Privacy policy
ASKfm operates ASKfm. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- From Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile photo.
- What you provide: username, bio, city, country, questions, answers, photos, videos, messages and settings.
- Automatically: your IP address (used to detect your country), push notification tokens for your devices, your last-seen time, and purchase records.
How we use it
- To run the service: show your profile, deliver questions and messages, and send notifications.
- To personalise: show content from your country first.
- For safety: automated moderation of text (processed by DeepSeek) and of photos and videos (processed on our servers), handling reports, and privately keeping who sent each anonymous question for abuse cases.
- For payments: we process them through Google Play and Stripe, and never see your full card number.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help run the service (Google/Firebase, Stripe, DeepSeek and our hosting provider), or when the law requires it.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and privacy settings at any time.
- Delete your account in Settings. Your profile, answers and messages are removed.
- Contact [email protected] to access or export your data.
Photos are re-encoded when you upload them, which removes location (GPS) data.
